NASA Space Apps Challenge 2026

NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2026 is the world's largest annual global hackathon, organised by NASA's Science Mission Directorate alongside 17 international space agency partners including India's ISRO. Open to all ages, skill levels, and professional backgrounds, the event runs on November 14 and 15, 2026 across more than 450 local events in over 190 countries and territories. Teams of up to 6 use NASA's open datasets to solve real challenges across space exploration, Earth observation, climate, agriculture, AI, storytelling, and more. 10 Global Winners are recognised across award categories, and every participant who submits a project receives a NASA Certificate of Participation. Participation is completely free and registration opens August 26, 2026. What makes Space Apps different is the data: every team works with real NASA and open-source space agency data to solve challenges written by NASA subject matter experts. India has a strong track record, with ISRO as an official partner agency and a Chennai team winning the global Most Inspirational award at the 2025 edition.

Open to everyone: students at any level, professionals across any field, hobbyists, and independent creators, with no minimum or maximum age. International participation is welcome across 190+ countries and territories, and India is eligible with ISRO as a partner agency. No fees, no application, and no selection process to take part.
