Overview
Microsoft Agent-a-Thon 2026 is a free, live virtual hackathon where participants build a real AI agent in a single 90-minute guided session. Organised by Microsoft in partnership with Founderz, the event runs globally on September 17, 2026 across three regional timeslots. Three skill levels, Explorer, Maker, and Architect, let everyone from no-code beginners to enterprise developers take part using Microsoft's AI tools. 18 Microsoft Surface Pro Copilot+ PC 12 inch units are awarded as prizes. Submissions are due September 24 and winners are announced October 2. India is eligible, with the Asia session running September 17, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM AEST (roughly 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM IST). Registration is free and open now. The event is built to close the AI skills gap by making agent development hands-on and outcome-oriented. You do not just watch a workshop, you build and submit a working agent, and Microsoft and Founderz provide pre-event training courses so you can prepare before the live session.
