AWS Bharat Builds Tour 2026

Bharat Builds Tour is India's largest student hackathon series, organised by WeMakeDevs in partnership with AWS. The tour runs across 6 Indian cities with a total prize pool of Rs 1 crore in gadgets and AWS cloud credits distributed across all six stops. Stop 1, First Commit, runs September 17 to 20, 2026 as a hybrid hackathon: online from anywhere in India, and in person on September 19 at Polaris School of Technology, Bangalore. Teams of 1 to 4 students compete across two tracks, Build It (open-source AWS tools, no AWS account required) and Ship It (build and deploy live on AWS), each with a $5,000 AWS credits grand prize. Top pre-final and final year projects earn fast-track Amazon interviews. Participation is free and the remaining 5 city stops are announced to registered participants. Registering from Stop 1 gives access to all six hackathons as they open, with prize opportunities at each stop. Projects are judged on problem quality, AWS integration, working execution, and demo effectiveness.

Open to university students across India who are 18 or older; student status must be verified on the AWS Builder Center. The fast-track Amazon interview applies only to pre-final year (class of 2028) and final year (class of 2027) students.
